The aim of the partnership between the Verzani & Sandrini Group and Santa Marcelina Cultura is to educate people through artistic and pedagogical activities offered to the Children and Youth Groups of the Guri Program.

About the Project

The Guri Program is a program that provides musical education and social and cultural inclusion for 13 thousand children and adolescents aged from 6 to 19 in units located throughout Greater São Paulo. Santa Marcelina Cultura is a non-profit association classified as a Social Cultural Organization (OS) by the Government of the State of São Paulo, through the State Secretariat of Culture, to manage the Guri Program.

The Children and Youth Groups of the Guri Program were created in 2009 to integrate students from all areas and provide them with artistic and education opportunities through group performance. Year by year the groups get larger and better-known. In 2009, there were two groups: the Symphony Band and the Children and Youth Choir. In 2013, there are ten groups, including the Families Choir, including approximately 350 of the best students in the teaching units of the Program.

The Verzani & Sandrini sponsors the ten groups: Children and Youth Choir of Guri Santa Marcelina, Children's Choir of the Guri Santa Marcelina, Children and Youth Symphonic Band of the Guri Santa Marcelina, Youth Symphonic Band of the Guri Santa Marcelina, Camerata Guitars of Children and Youth Guri Santa Marcelina, String Orchestra Children and Youth of the Guri Santa Marcelina, the Guri Santa Marcelina Children and Youth Symphony Orchestra, Grupo Choro Children and Youth of the Guri Santa Marcelina, Big Band Children and Youth of the Guri Santa Marcelina, the Family Choir Guri Santa Marcelina. The partnership with the Company shall, in all, about 400 students and will pay 60 concerts, plus over 300 trials.
